Bev Brander - Concert Bands - Regina, SK
Bev has been passionate about music for as long as she can remember, first picking up the trumpet in Grade 5 through the Regina Catholic School Bands Program. That early experience sparked a lifelong love of music that has shaped her career as both a performer and educator.
She earned her Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Regina and went on to further her conducting studies at the University of Calgary’s Summer Graduate Conducting Program. She later completed her Master of Music at Bowling Green State University.
Bev spent over 30 years teaching band and arts education with the Regina Public School Board, working with students from kindergarten through Grade 12, and especially enjoying her time with middle years band students.
Even in retirement, she stays very active in the music community. She directs the Prairie Winds Intermediate Community Band and the Bandits Community Concert and Jazz Bands, and performs on cornet with the Queen City Brass Band.
When she’s not making music, Bev enjoys travelling, quilting, refinishing furniture, and spending time with her three grown daughters.
